Non-thesis Master Program in Public Law (Turkish)

About the Program

Master of Public Law with non-thesis, except for the time spent in the scientific preparation, starting from the period in which the courses related to the program enrolled, regardless of whether the student has registered for each semester, lasts at least four semesters and a maximum of three years.The medium of instruction is Turkish. The main objective of this programme is to train researchers and promote research in this field.

In the Master of Public Law with non-thesis, the knowledge acquired during the undergraduate education is corroborated; students have the opportunity to specialize in the fields with theoretical and research methods that they have to take. With this program, it is aimed to educate jurists who identify problems in the field of public law, evaluate them, propose solutions to the conflicts that arise, have scientific research skills and specialize in the fields.

Application and Admission Requirements

 

For Applicants with Turkish Citizenship
  • Applicants must hold a 4-year undergraduate degree.
  • Candidates must earn a minimum score of 65 from written science exams and/or interviews.
  • Overall assessment must be 65 or higher.

For International Applicants
  • A commission set up by the relevant department’s directorate and composed of at least 3 faculty members determines the field in which applicants must hold an undergraduate degree, the minimum CGPA and (for the programs requiring proficiency in a language other than Turkish) language proficiency level.
  • Applicants must demonstrate their proficiency in Turkish to be able to start their studies (This requirement does not apply to international students who have graduated from a higher education institution in Turkey). The others must achieve at least the level C1 in the Turkish proficiency exams such as TÖMER, DİLMER, and TYS. Applicants who never submit any of these documents will be required to take the Turkish preparation programs, which will take a maximum of two semesters.
  • The determined tuition fee of the program for the International Students must be paid. Click for the current tuition fee.
Horizontal Transfer
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Master’s program
  • Must satisfy the requirements of the program that is being applied,
  • Current GPA must be at least 2.50,
  • Must have finished at least one semester in the currently enrolled program,
  • Must NOT be further than the half of the currently enrolled program,
  • Must NOT have any disciplinary record,
  • Must have satisfied all the requirements of the completed semesters of the currently enrolled program.

Application Calendar and Evaluation

Applicants are ranked based on an initial evaluation carried out by weighting of GPA. Up to five times of the quota, candidates can be called for a scientific evaluation exam.

After applications are accepted, a science exam is held on the announced date. The application results are determined by 20% of GPA, and 80% of science exam score. Based on this evaluation, candidates who have earned a score of 65 and above are deemed successful. Successful candidates are ranked according to general evaluation scores (in cases of equal general evaluation scores, science exam scores are taken into consideration), and a number of candidates and substitute candidates as specified by quotas are announced on the institute's website.
