Master of Arts in Audit and Risk Management (Turkish)

About the Program

The Master’s Program (with Thesis) in Auditing and Risk Management is offered by the
Interdisciplinary Department of Auditing and Risk Management under the Institute of Social
Sciences. The program aims to provide students with an academic perspective in fields related to
auditing and risk management, thereby enhancing their competencies in scientific research and
original intellectual production.

The program has consistently attracted a high number of applications, exceeding the announced
quotas each semester. This strong interest is mainly due to the widespread implementation of
auditing and risk management functions in the business world. These functions play a critical role
in ensuring the sustainability, efficiency, and reputation of organizations across all areas of
business. Auditing and risk management contribute significantly to institutional operations at all
levels of management and in every sector. Within this context, these functions help organizations
meet legal requirements, utilize resources effectively, prevent misconduct, make strategic
decisions, gain competitive advantage, and build a well-functioning corporate structure.

The curriculum of the program has been designed with an interdisciplinary approach, covering a
broad range of subjects. A holistic approach has been adopted in the design process, taking into
account theoretical knowledge, practical applications, and current developments. Within this
framework, the program aims to equip professionals working in or interested in auditing and risk
management—across all sectors and managerial levels of business life—with the necessary
competencies. A wide range of elective courses are offered by qualified academics and
professionals working in the field of auditing and risk management.

Applicants are ranked based on an initial evaluation carried out by weighting 50% of ALES score and 50% of GPA. The number of candidates invited to science exams can be up to five times the quota. Three points after comma in decimals are taken into consideration in the ranking of applicants. If more than one candidate rank last with the same score, all these candidates are invited to entrance examination.

After applications are accepted, a science exam is held on the announced date. The application results are determined by weighting 50% of ALES score, 20% of GPA, and 30% of science exam score. Based on this evaluation, candidates who have earned a score of 65 and above are deemed successful. Successful candidates are ranked according to general evaluation scores (in cases of equal general evaluation scores, science exam scores are taken into consideration), and a number of candidates and substitute candidates as specified by quotas are announced on the institute's website.
