Non-thesis Master Program in Audit and Risk Management (Turkish)

About the Program

Master’s Program (Non-Thesis) in Auditing and Risk Management is offered by the
Interdisciplinary Department of Auditing and Risk Management under the Institute of Social
Sciences. The program is open to all professionals who wish to enhance themselves by gaining
an academic perspective in the fields of auditing and risk management.

The program has consistently attracted a high number of applications, exceeding the announced
quotas each semester. This strong interest is primarily due to the widespread implementation of
auditing and risk management functions in the business world. These functions are critically
important for ensuring the sustainability, efficiency, and reputation of organizations across all
areas of business. They contribute significantly to corporate operations at every level and in all
sectors. In this context, auditing and risk management functions support institutions in fulfilling
legal requirements, using resources efficiently, preventing misconduct, making strategic
decisions, gaining competitive advantage, and establishing a well-functioning corporate structure.
The Non-Thesis Master’s Program in Auditing and Risk Management aims to equip students with
competencies in scientific research and original intellectual production, enabling them to
contribute to the fields of auditing and risk management from a perspective that bridges academia
and practice. The program builds a knowledge bridge between practitioners in auditing and risk
management and qualified academics and experts in the field. It is designed with a curriculum
that fosters the ability to develop appropriate solutions to current challenges in the field. The
program has received full support from competent stakeholders and professional institutions in
auditing and risk management.
The courses included in the curriculum have been determined through an interdisciplinary
approach across a wide spectrum. The design of the curriculum takes into account the
professional needs of practitioners in the field, combining theoretical knowledge, practical
dimensions, and current developments through a holistic perspective. Within this framework, the
program aims to equip all professionals working in or interested in auditing and risk
management—across all sectors and managerial levels of business life—with the necessary
competencies. A wide range of elective courses is offered by qualified academics and
professionals working in the auditing and risk management field.

After applications are accepted, a science exam is held on the announced date. The application results are determined by 20% of GPA, and 80% of science exam score. Based on this evaluation, candidates who have earned a score of 65 and above are deemed successful. Successful candidates are ranked according to general evaluation scores (in cases of equal general evaluation scores, science exam scores are taken into consideration), and a number of candidates and substitute candidates as specified by quotas are announced on the institute's website.
