Non-thesis Master's Program in Cultural Policy and Management (Turkish)

Program Hakkında

The fact that there are not enough graduate-level programs in our country that examine, regulate, and/or make concrete suggestions about cultural policies, management, and cultural production is one of the main reasons for opening the program. The program will bring the management of cultural policies to an academic basis and it will prepare the ground for the managers and personnel involved in the policymaking and implementation process to gain an academic awareness and formation. In addition, examining Turkey's rich and multidimensional cultural fields such as history, tourism, art, architecture, and literature will contribute to national and international scientific knowledge. Considering that Anatolian geography has been a cultural center since ancient times, the importance of cultural policy management is seen in terms of evaluating Turkey's cultural heritage. In this context, this program deals with Turkey specific processes, dynamics, and perspectives of cultural institutions, places, and cultural policies in Turkey. It also shows the dynamic relationship of culture and art with the political structure. The fact that the program is designed as an interdisciplinary program that aims to provide a productive environment for political, economic, and cultural actors to work together and exchange ideas. Thus, the Non-Thesis Master in Cultural Policy Management will provide a necessary interdisciplinary framework for both positioning Turkey's rich and multidimensional cultural heritage within the world cultural history and analyzing it from a versatile perspective. Within the scope of the program, academic activities that will support the development of cultural policies and the strengthening of cultural institutions will be carried out with the joint participation of all actors of the cultural field.

It is aimed that the students who will graduate from this program will work as expert personnel in the relevant public institutions and organizations, central and local government institutions especially Ministry of Culture and Tourism, museums, institutions operating in
librarianship, private institutions operating in the field of culture, art, and tourism, and national and international non-governmental organizations. Graduates will be able to continue their academic careers on cultural policies if they choose.

Non-thesis Master's Program in Disaster and Humanitarian Aid Management (Turkish)

Program Hakkında

Disaster and Humanitarian Aid Management Programme is organized under the coordination of Political Science and Public Administration Department and it aims to graduate students in the fields of social sciences and health sciences to specifically work on disasters and aid in both public and private institutions in Turkey and abroad.

Disaster and Humanitarian Aid Management Programs include pre-disaster recovery and restructuring activities, including risk reduction and preparation strategies, search and rescue at the time of disaster, and humanitarian activities afterwards in case of a potential disaster. An effective disaster management depends on the existence of national disaster policies, interdisciplinary studies, and the  culture of disaster. Structurally, disaster management includes many different occupanital groups, specialties, methods, techniques, administrative and legal processes. So, it is essential to evaluate disaster management as an interdisciplinary management area. Thanks to this program, it is expected that Turkey, as a country faced with several disasters in the history, will achieve more effective and functional disaster management via qualified human resources. In the evaluation regarding the application areas of disaster policies, it is seen that traditional approach focuses on crisis management and produces local scale policies while strategic approach adopt a broader perspective and applications. Traditional method considers disaster management and humanitarian aid as part of engineering while  strategic approach adopt a broader perspective which includes multi-disciplinary, economic, social and environmental issues. This program adopts a strategic understanding that will ensure cooperation between public employees, NGOs, private sector, business professionals, representatives of professional organizations together with researchers and academicians who carry out scientific research in this field. Disaster and Humanitarian Aid Management Master Program, which is inherently interdisciplinary, is designed to deal with the main problems of humanity, disaster and humanitarian aid, from a social sciences perspective, and to ensure a more effective management in the policy development and implementation process.

Interdisciplinary Department of Auditing and Risk Management under the Institute of Social
Sciences. The program is open to all professionals who wish to enhance themselves by gaining
an academic perspective in the fields of auditing and risk management.

The program has consistently attracted a high number of applications, exceeding the announced

auditing and risk management functions in the business world. These functions are critically
important for ensuring the sustainability, efficiency, and reputation of organizations across all
areas of business. They contribute significantly to corporate operations at every level and in all
sectors. In this context, auditing and risk management functions support institutions in fulfilling
legal requirements, using resources efficiently, preventing misconduct, making strategic
decisions, gaining competitive advantage, and establishing a well-functioning corporate structure.
The Non-Thesis Master’s Program in Auditing and Risk Management aims to equip students with
competencies in scientific research and original intellectual production, enabling them to
contribute to the fields of auditing and risk management from a perspective that bridges academia
and practice. The program builds a knowledge bridge between practitioners in auditing and risk
management and qualified academics and experts in the field. It is designed with a curriculum
that fosters the ability to develop appropriate solutions to current challenges in the field. The
program has received full support from competent stakeholders and professional institutions in
auditing and risk management.
The courses included in the curriculum have been determined through an interdisciplinary
approach across a wide spectrum. The design of the curriculum takes into account the
professional needs of practitioners in the field, combining theoretical knowledge, practical
dimensions, and current developments through a holistic perspective. Within this framework, the
